With winter weather predicted for tomorrow, I was in the mood to start a project tonight! (Not to mention the fact that David volunteered our house for the Bank of Fayetteville branch Christmas party on Tuesday!) I am now feeling the need to decorate more! Being on the budget we are, I decided to paint a ceiling tile and use it either to hang over a mirror, or on the back of an interior door. I'm not sure yet what I will do with it. But I love it- I do know that!!
A blank tile.. What should I paint??
I used leftover burnt-orange paint from the stripes in our office.
In the beginning, he was simply three balls of snow. Pretty simple so far!
Me!
David took a few pictures of me painting the lettering.
Starting the scarf...
How do you paint a carrot?
"David!!"
"What?"
"Where is your drill?"
"I'm coming down there. Don't touch my tools. What are you doing, anyway?"
A McCash masterpiece!
Tada! I left plenty of ribbon to hang it somewhere. I'll have to play with it and see where I like it best! Tune in on Monday to see my complete home decorated for Boomama's Holiday Tour of Homes!
It's absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you must be so neat because you are always painting in your nice clothes, in which you always look so stinkin' super cute!!
WHEN are we getting together?!?!!
That is so cute!!! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment. She did so good today, and she looks about 100% better than yesterday. We're just praying that the surgery worked!!
We're suppose to get hit with it overnight tonight. I haven't checked outside since about 9, so I'm not sure where we're at right now. Earlier my dad said our deck was already frozen. I guess I'll just see how it is in the morning! We're suppose to get 5 inches tonight, but who knows!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so cute! I love the way the dents in the tile look like snow! How cute!
ReplyDeleteThe kids go to school in Salem. We live about 45 minutes east of Mountain Home. It's a LONG way from home. :(
That is SO adorable!! You make me want to have my own craft room to make goodies out of!! You need to have your own store!
ReplyDeleteVERY CUTE!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't use all the celing tiles before we come back to AR!!!! :)
Tutoring is fine. It's a great way to get out of the house and I enjoy the interaction with older kids, but it takes like 30 minutes to get there. Evan drove out there the other day and was like, "We've got to find a place for you to work that is closer to our apartment. This drive is CRAZY!"
I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cute - I wish I had 1/4 of your creativity!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that kind of talent! That's adorable!... No I'm not from Farmington, I lived there for about 6 months in 2004, But I went to School in Huntsville... Brittney and I worked together at the Apartments.
ReplyDeleteare u on right now?
ReplyDeleteok, now to actually comment on your post...
ReplyDeleteI am so stinkin impressed!!! WOW! I might have to beg you to paint something for me one of these days!
That is beautiful! I love it. I think I'm going to have to try something like that now. We have some extra tile from when our house was built around here somewhere.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of ribbon do you use to hang it? Do you have to tie the knot a special way? I'm afraid I would hang it from the wrong type and it would shatter to the floor! And scare the mess out of my dogs in the process!
That is the CUTEST snowman!! You could make anything and it wold turn out darling! I don't think we are going to get snow...just will probably miss us. You who are over more in the far west corner of the state always get it first! Stay warm and keep painting!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are a fabulous teacher, but you need to quit your day job and do crafty things full time!
ReplyDeletedang! hate that I missed you! Get back on and chat with me!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see pictures from the BOF party! Yall will have a blast...tell John B. to behave!! You've gotta watch him!
Oh my goodness Jessica....that is the cutest Christmas item I have seen in a long time. And you made it out of left over tile & paint. I really like the dents in the ceiling tile it looks like snow when you paint over it lightly, my mind is running with things to paint on them. If you had endless free time you could paint all your friends something & personalize it with their names on it & include all their family members. Just a thought.....I know you will be busy on the new year ahead painting lots of new items for all the special occasion's
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Jessica! I love snowmen...what a fun project!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
I found you through Meredith. I'm one of her friends from OBU. Your creativity amazes me. I love the Let it Snow painting, it is TOO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteI always try to think of people to set John up with!! The girls and I would sit at work trying to think of someone. He has got to be the nicest guy ever!! I'm still working on it...
ReplyDeleteMaybe we could set up a want ad on our blogs??? Just kidding...maybe...
Adorable! I am totally stealing that idea-what a cute snowman!!
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo cute!!! I am so jealous! Seriously!! I hope your party was fun! I didn't realize your hubby worked at BOF. My friend, John, is the manager of the one on Wedington. He's a mess! Anyway, keep up the creativity posts! I'm hoping one day it will rub off on me!
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy! What a small world!! John is one of my good friends. He's a great guy! We give each other a hard time b/c we both work for banks. I work for Bank of the Ozarks. Anyway, I'll have to be sure and tell John I know you...through blog land. In fact I gave him my blog address for the first time a couple of days ago.
