"Let It Snow"

With winter weather predicted for tomorrow, I was in the mood to start a project tonight! (Not to mention the fact that David volunteered our house for the Bank of Fayetteville branch Christmas party on Tuesday!) I am now feeling the need to decorate more! Being on the budget we are, I decided to paint a ceiling tile and use it either to hang over a mirror, or on the back of an interior door. I'm not sure yet what I will do with it. But I love it- I do know that!!

A blank tile.. What should I paint??

I used leftover burnt-orange paint from the stripes in our office.

In the beginning, he was simply three balls of snow. Pretty simple so far!

Me!

David took a few pictures of me painting the lettering.

Starting the scarf...

How do you paint a carrot?

"David!!"
"What?"
"Where is your drill?"
"I'm coming down there. Don't touch my tools. What are you doing, anyway?"

A McCash masterpiece!

Tada! I left plenty of ribbon to hang it somewhere. I'll have to play with it and see where I like it best! Tune in on Monday to see my complete home decorated for Boomama's Holiday Tour of Homes!

  3. We're suppose to get hit with it overnight tonight. I haven't checked outside since about 9, so I'm not sure where we're at right now. Earlier my dad said our deck was already frozen. I guess I'll just see how it is in the morning! We're suppose to get 5 inches tonight, but who knows!

The kids go to school in Salem. We live about 45 minutes east of Mountain Home. It's a LONG way from home. :(

  6. VERY CUTE!!!!

Don't use all the celing tiles before we come back to AR!!!! :)

Tutoring is fine. It's a great way to get out of the house and I enjoy the interaction with older kids, but it takes like 30 minutes to get there. Evan drove out there the other day and was like, "We've got to find a place for you to work that is closer to our apartment. This drive is CRAZY!"

  10. That is beautiful! I love it. I think I'm going to have to try something like that now. We have some extra tile from when our house was built around here somewhere.

What kind of ribbon do you use to hang it? Do you have to tie the knot a special way? I'm afraid I would hang it from the wrong type and it would shatter to the floor! And scare the mess out of my dogs in the process!

  15. Oh my goodness Jessica....that is the cutest Christmas item I have seen in a long time. And you made it out of left over tile & paint. I really like the dents in the ceiling tile it looks like snow when you paint over it lightly, my mind is running with things to paint on them. If you had endless free time you could paint all your friends something & personalize it with their names on it & include all their family members. Just a thought.....I know you will be busy on the new year ahead painting lots of new items for all the special occasion's
