It Is A Give Away!!

In honor of Bloggy Carnival Give Aways, I will be giving a custom painted tile away on Febraury 3rd! The tile design will be determined by the winner- he/she may choose custom colors and a design. Each tile measures 24 X 24 inches and is a fun addition to a classroom door, front door, inside door, or on the wall! They are really fun for new parents, or baby showers! Pictured below are a few examples of work I have completed recently. For this contest only, I will waive the $20.00 shipping fee. This contest is free of charge! All you need to do is leave a comment with your name and email address directly on this post. I will draw a name on February 3rd and contact you directly! Good luck!

He is Thinking Ahead!

Today when I came home from school, after a long day of teaching subject-verb agreement, I found a mysterious gift bag on the dining room table. The card read, Happy Valentine's Day, but I was unsure what to make of it. After all, it is a little early for my mom to be dropping off a V day gift! David proudly responded that his Valentine's Day shopping was complete and that he had found the perfect gift for me! Can you believe it? Does anyone else's husband shop ahead like this? He has always been a good shopper- his Christmas gifts for me are always a lot more sentimental and considerate than mine are- but, it is not even February, and there sits my gift. I guess I am going to have to stare at it for three weeks. Well, not willing to be outdone, I made a trip to visit my best friend, T.J., and did a little V day shopping of my own. I found David something he will love (he is my blog's biggest fan, so I can't share), and got a few things for myself. I love T. J. Maxx like an insomniac loves late night TV; where else can you find BCBG at discount prices?

A sweet handmade card I received this week from a bloggy friend, Jennifer!

Today, I received another sweet handmade card from a bloggy friend, Jamie.

I must admit, and those who frequent our house know, that I have a wee bit obsession with chandeliers. Either real, or ornamental, I am drawn to them like a vegan to tofu. I have six hanging, and this makes seven, which will soon (Please David!! Just do it!) be mounted in the guest bathroom. I have one in the dining room, foyer, laundry room, our bathroom, future baby's nursery, and in the entrance alcove to our bedroom. I think they are so fun!

The Belle of the Ball

What a fun weekend! Saturday was one of those days where we were really overbooked and had to be several places at once. My cousin Rachel was a model in a fashion show, and she took to the runway at 6:00 pm. Rachel was definitely the "Belle of the Ball!" 6:00 p.m. was also the time we were supposed to be at my grandmother's surprise 75th birthday party! We managed to go to both by going to the show for only 30 minutes, and then heading over to the Catfish Hole for dinner with my dad's family. Sunday, we celebrated my Aunt Cathy and Uncle Tim's 24th Anniversary with a luncheon hosted by my Granny on my mom's side. We then took a 3 hour motorcycle ride to Kingston, St. Paul, and then back home. It was chilly! : ) But we snuggled, and cuddled, and enjoyed a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of life in the countryside!

Rachel had many wardrobe changes, but we could only stay for the first one.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

There were about 50 people there to celebrate her 75th birthday!

Saturday night, we did some shopping, and I was so excited to find this vintage 80's shirt at Target! It says, "Frankie says Relax!" I am a huge fan of 80's music, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood is in my top five favorite bands of all time! It will make a great motorcycle shirt!

Sunday:

Well, after David found out my shirt was for "riding" purposes, he couldn't resit going out for a spin (three hour spin, mind you.) We started off by going to my granny's house to celebrate Cathy and Tim's anniversary.

Getting the bike packed and ready.

It was such a beautiful day at our house!

And then we took off! We try to avoid riding alone, but today, everyone was busy, so we decided to ride solo. It was a great time for David and I to reconnect- being miles away from home all dressed in leather can definitely spruce up the ol' love life! : )

We stopped on the Pig Trail to take a break and realized we had been gone almost three hours, so we decided to head back home. After all, I have bus duty at 7:30 a.m. and I need my beauty rest in order to return to school as an average 5th grade school teacher. : ) I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!
