Chevron and the City

I've had a week to remember! One of my teaching partners at the middle school flew in on Saturday and just left today. We had a wonderful time together and my cup is running over with love and happiness. I told her it was like my two worlds had collided, seeing my Arkansas teacher pal in Detroit. It makes living here feel like home.

I plan on doing a day-by-day recap of our adventures, so look for those to start in a few days.

And since these pictures are long overdue, here is our dining room. It is bright and colorful and fun, which is a great contrast to the time period of the house {1920s}. Chevron is definitely trendy, but I have no issue repainting in a year or two if I tire of it. Paint is such a fun medium and is easy and cheap to use. But, I have a feeling that this chevron is here to stay for at least a few years. We all really love being in this room.

And for those of you who are not friends with me on Facebook because we don't *really know each other, here is a sneak peek of Judith and me in Detroit on Belle Isle {an island between Windsor and Detroit on the international water border.} Judith could be a super model {she is so tall and gorgeous, is she not?} I feel so lucky to have had her fly in to visit. Harbor and David enjoyed hearing laughter in the house.  : )

I'm starting to feel like this big city really has a small town heart. I look at these pictures and think that this city is mine and I am hers.  : )

Your dining room looks more like you now, I love how it all has come together. And you did it all with what you already had. I bet Harbor will love having you to himself again. 4. The dining room is looking fabulous! Can't wait to see the whole house. I love seeing how different people decorate differently. I'm glad you got to see a "home" friend. I can't wait, because in less then 2 weeks, I'll be home in Arkansas. Hope you're having a fantastic summer!
