Well, my classroom is up and running. Open House was this past Tuesday and school starts on Monday. I'm excited about starting the 2008-2009 school year, and am so happy to be returning to the classroom. I pray God would use me in an abundant way to serve the children in my classroom! : )
I laminated book jackets and hung them in place of my usual Japanese lanterns.
I literally have an entire wall of boards to decorate, but I love it!
My mom made me a really fun new curtain this year! Thanks mom!
I actually have tons more to post about, but I have finally hit the limit of 1 gig of space blogger gives you for free, and blogger made me make a decision last night to delete a year's worth of my blog, or pay to continue posting. I decided to pay, of course, but it will be tonight until the new space is available for use. Has anyone else hit this milestone yet?
Your room looks great. It's great that you have such a love for teaching. Best of luck this school year!
ReplyDeleteYour room is SO NEAT!!! The new curtains are super fun, too! I hope your school year gets off to a great start--the kids are blessed to have such a caring, wonderful teacher!
ReplyDeleteWow, girl! What a milestone.. 1 gig blogger! They should have a special award to give you;-)
ReplyDeleteVery cute classroom, as always.. looks like a fun room to teach and learn in. God Bless another year of teaching for you!
I absolutely love your room ;)! You are so creative and really put a lot of thought into everything!
ReplyDeleteI love your classroom! I read your blog all the time - I am friends with Jamie (you made the bug sign for her little boys' room). I may have commented before, but just wanted to introduce myself. I also have a website/blog - www.justinbritni.com if you are interested. Send me an email and I will give you the info. Also, the nursery is sooo awesome! I love to see all of your creative ideas on here! Hope you have a great start to the school year!

Wow! You did all that with a belly! Go you. Your kids are truly blessed to have you as a teacher. I'm sure they're going to love that fabulous room. My hubby has been working feverishly to get his room ready, also. Different feel, of course, because he teaches high school (math, yuck!). Good luck in your new school year. I hope I get to see you soon!

ReplyDeleteYour room looks so good. I wish that I was in 5th grade again. That is the one year that I remember not liking my teach. I hope that you have a great year!!!
ReplyDeleteJessica,
ReplyDeleteJust got your comment over at campslinkard. I know it's been crazy busy for you. Sorry you missed the shower. We had a great time and even better munchies! I'm also sorry you missed Robin's wedding. Seems like there's always so much to do this time of year.
Sophia is doing well. She actually starts 'school' Monday as well at Montessori. I know it will be good for her, but I don't know how good it will be for Mommy!! See you soon...
Wow, I didn't realize that you had to delete or pay!
ReplyDeleteI love the room! It is cute! I almost took pictures of my room today, but it is not "there" yet!
OK whats your e-mail? I replied to your comment and I don't think that you get them
ReplyDeleteYour room looks wonderful! The curtain is adorable. Good luck this year! I look forward to seeing the rest of your pictures.
ReplyDeleteYay! I was waiting for you to post some pics of your super cute room :) I've been crazy busy, but I want to get some up too.
ReplyDeleteI gues it's a good thing you do love to decorate. Between your class and the baby, you seem to have a lot of it to do. 5th grade! Boston's in the 5th grade this year and his homeroom class it not nearly as cool as yours!
ReplyDeleteHey there Miss Jessica, I love that note on your fridge, ha!!!Makes me wonder if your lunch has ever come up missing, ha!!!!The curtain looks good, bright & colorful. I always wanted to be a teacher, but at least I can help you with the room decoration. May God bless another year in the class room, & with your new baby boy ahead. Dad & I love you so much & are so proud of you. Mom
ReplyDeleteYour room looks so great! I LOVE your reading corner!! Have a wonderful year!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so jealous of your room! Such things are so much less fun at the high school level, although I do try!
ReplyDeleteI just had Open House tonight, and we start on Monday too. I love your room! I love the decorating part of teaching. :)
ReplyDeleteI got the idea from you to post pictures of my classroom. I have been reading your blog for a while but I think this is the first time I commented. I love hearing about your pregnancy!
Love your room! I love the curtains too! Where did your Mom get the fabric? That would be perfect for Shelby's room. :) I love the orange fringe too!
ReplyDeleteI know your students will be blessed with you teaching them! Have a great year!!
My kids start Monday too. I'm a little sad because my daughter starts Kindergarten full day. But at the same time I am so excited for her as she begins this awesome learning journey! Please pray for her teacher (and my son's teachers) that they have the same love that you have for teaching!
So cute! I too love the sign on the fridge. =)
ReplyDeleteAs for hosting, I decided I'd rather pay Flickr than Blogger because I like the uploader ten times more, and then I can use my unlimited Flickr storage to host pics for multiple blogs and other sites. I'm glad that you decided to pay instead of deleting parts of your fun blog. =)
Cute classroom. I can tell I would love love love your class if I was your student. Pay for blogging? Never heard of such. Is it expensive?
ReplyDeleteYou are such a great teacher! I'm sure the kind that every kid wants to get each year. I hope you have a wonderful first day!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so nice. I don't remember having such fun rooms when I was in school. I love the keep out sign on the fridge-made me laugh! :)Hope your year gets off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of having your room all ready to go...nothing like it!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you have to do to get in your "Hall of Fame"?
Have a wonderful school year! Your room looks wonderful and so do you!
Blessings!
I hit that milestone a while back too! It wasn't a very hard decision on what to do. I paid too!
ReplyDeleteYour room is gorgeous! And look how cute you are! Congrats to getting back to school! I'm sure you will do wonderful things.
ReplyDeleteYour classroom looks so great! I'm praying that you have a wonderful group of kids and that you are able to make a positive difference in each of their lives!
ReplyDeleteI know, it feels like it has been forever! I have had such a crazy summer that it's been hard to keep up with blogs. But now I'm back in BR and able to read all the ones I want. =)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea blogger did that! Your room looks great! I love that you put "I'm glad you're here," on the tables.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your room. So many great ideas for me to use! I especially like your reading/library section. I need more books in mine!
ReplyDeleteYour room looks great!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize we have to pay after a certain point! But I know what I'll be doing!
Cute room! I love how you have your reading corner fixed up, and the idea of hanging the book covers from the ceiling is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun classroom! Wow! You have run out of space! Glad you didn't delete any of your blogs! It's well worth the money you spent to keep it for your blog fans! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're belly has grown since I saw you two weeks ago missy! You look precious!!!
Wow! What fun to see your classroom!!! Your room looks absolutely fantastic and like a ton of fun. Makes me miss all the new school supplies :)
ReplyDeleteYou do not even know the panic attack you just gave me about this 1GB storage thing. I raced over to blogger and found that its a limit on the pictures - not the posts themselves. Phew! :) I was so worried I'd have to start deleting some precious posts. The photo limit I can handle. Just don't limit my jabbering! ;)
I wish I were in your class. Good luck in the upcoming school year. What a lucky bunch of kids to have you as a teacher. Not many care as much as you. It's refreshing. By the way, I love the baby name. Precious!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I saw lots of new things since the last time I've been in your room. :)
