Newbies

If you will remember from my previous post, I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and bought some new stuff. David hung it on Sunday while my mom and I ran to Hancock fabrics to do a little shopping. He also put up our new brushed bronze kick plate and door knocker. I am in love with them both!! We have a little dog who insists on scratching the front door if she wants to come in from a walk, and I think the kick plate is the best solution to her taking the paint off. The door knocker just looks traditional and classy to me- which I love!

My 'key' collage as seen from our bar.

Up close and personal! : )

The view from our guest bedroom. The two other doors you see are the laundry room and the future baby's nursery. (Future as in much later down the road.) I love that the keys are fat because they really add some dimension to that wall. Fat keys equal 'phat' keys!! : )

Our front door with the new accessories. I need to move my topiary trees back out there now that Christmas is over.

Our Bichon-proof kick plate!

Door knocker- though I am not a big fan of gold, the bronze just blended way too much and for what you pay for those silly things, I wanted something you could see from the road. : )

  1. Cute! I love the key wall much better than the plates, even though they were cute too! How was your 1st day back?!!

  3. It looks great! We were moved in for quite a while before I really started adding things to the wall. It takes me time to figure out what I like.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

I just noticed that you added me to your blog list. Thanks! Do you mind using our family's site - www.JoshJamie.com - instead of the Close To My Heart one? I do not update it as often. Thanks!

  11. I love how you specify that your baby is coming much further down the road and you still get tons of wishful thinkers! Haha! :) The same thing happens to me any time I mention # 2. All of your stuff is adorable--of course!

  17. Your house is so cute! Gosh I miss living in a city with shops, i.e. Hobby Lobby and Hancocks. You know a lot of Hancocks have closed and that's sad because my Mom and I love that place!

  21. Thanks for reminding me....we have a kickplate in the hall closet that we bought over two years ago and hasn't been added to the front door yet.....another for the "honey-do" list!

  22. Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment, my new bloggy friend:)!

I did not stay at home the first time. I wanted to, but finances were not aligned. I worked but thankfully my mom kept Mary Margaret 3 days a week and then MM went to a babysitter (a long time family friend--Christian family friend). I was very lucky with that arrangement.

I am so glad to be home and find my true calling---being a momma! I can always go back to teaching and probably will, eventually. I taught gifted but we specialized in gifted reading/language arts....I can definately relate to your job. Don't you love that subject?
