Welcome to the party! Come on in!
I made 40 invites and loved the colors.. I decided to use a color scheme for the party as opposed to a really specific theme of any kind. I just went with jewel tones. : ) It was really easy to find fabric, etc..
The goodie-bags for all of Harbor's little friends, right inside of our foyer. I loved the big stickers that personalized them with his name. I found a really neat webiste that sold them really cheap- the stationary studio. com
Our living room- I made a felt banner out of felt squares and used iron-on heat-and bond to attach the lettering. It made for a fun backdrop when he opened his presents. I found some I like on Etsy, but didn't want to pay for one, so I made it. It was my first one to make, but I learned a few tricks as I went. : )
Other random decorations included lots of helium balloons, tulle wrapped chairs, and more balloons. The kids loved the balloons!
The cake table in our dining room was lots of fun for me to create! I made his cupcake stand by hand and used some of the personalized stickers to create cupcake picks. I decorated our chandelier with tulle, ribbon, and a #1- my baby is one! My goodness! I also made a massive birthday hat. Ha! Since I can't do hair bows, obviously, I swore I would do a ginormous party hat.
We kept it simple with cupcakes and red koolaid. I didn't want to be overwhelmed with food and miss any "aha" moments with Harbor. The day went smoothly and I am so pleased with how it unfolded- simple and easy!
Opening gifts from sweet friends and family-
Harbor's cake and cupcakes were really yummy. It was nice not having to cut cake.. made it super easy for me! Being able to talk to our friends and family and not having to serve cake on plates was a lifesaver! : ) Cupcakes may be here to stay.
Harbor is so blessed to be surrounded by friends and family who love him!
Our house was full of people and we all had a lot of fun!
Do you remember that little white rocking chair I bought at a second hand store? Well, I painted it for HW to sit in while he opened his gifts, but mom bought him that green and white polka dot chair from Pottery Barn as his birthday present, so I had him use it instead. But, just for fun, here is the rocker I painted...
Thanksgiving pictures will (hopefully) not take me so long to post! If you know me in "real" life, you know how busy I stay. Blogging is just the farthest thing from my mind right now. : ) BUT- I read all of your blogs weekly and love hearing what you are up to, so don't give up on me quite yet. : )
Stay warm!
Love,
Jessica and family

ReplyDeleteYou did such a beautiful job with Harbor's b-day. I am starting to plan my son's 1st b-day which will be in February and I was wondering about the labels you used on the gift tags. I checked out the website you posted. Did you then attach them to the brown cardstock and make the cupcake tags? Where do you find all these cute ideas?
