Yes, there are still two days left in the "Give Away", but I really need to make a new post. It is hard for me to see the same post for days at a time. I know some of you who suffer from the same disease I have (blogitis) can relate! Here are a few pictures of the progress we have been making around here.
1. Zayde's birthday party is Saturday night! I wrapped his gift yesterday, and I wanted to show you the cute birthday cake ornament I bought at Christmas! I LOVE buying gifts for kids!
2. The ginormous flowrbeds outside are finished! David worked two weekends ago on them to get them finished up, and they look really nice under the big trees. Though we own over an acre, we built our house on the smallest tip of that acre, closest to the road because we are in a subdivision. As a way to cut back on mowing, these flowerbeds will help take up some space around the house! Now, all we need is warmer weather and we can start landscaping! David worked for a landscaping company several years ago, and he loves creating garden-like spaces. I can't wait to see some plants out there!
3. A few posts ago, I bought some pillows at T.J. Maxx, and I wanted to show you how fun they look in our bedroom! Our bedroom, as opposed to the rest of the house, is really calming. The walls in the rest of the house are lime, deep chocolate, red, orange... but our room is so soothing in yellow, blue, and brown. This bench is a great place to put shoes on, or lay folded clothes from the laundry room! David and I made last summer out of our old kitchen table. Click here to see how it was made: http://davidjessicamccash.blogspot.com/2007/08/operation-kitchen-table.html
4. Bichon's buffet in the laundry room is finally complete! (Until I find something cute and change it again!) My friend, Amy, painted this "B" for Bichon at Christmas and it looks so sweet above her toy basket. I painted the bone over the summer while we were still under construction. I wonder if that dog has any idea how much I love her? Probably not, because it is a ridiculous amount of love.
5. The garage is slowly, but surely resembling something I am proud of. David has been working hard to ensure some organization down there. We do have a big garage, but the last thing either of want to is to have it look like an episode of Samson and Sons. David made a peg board to hold his tools he needs regularly, and we installed a few free standing wall units to add shelving. One area is still a mess, and I take complete responsibiliy for it- the yard sale pile. This June, I hope to get rid of the clothing, home decor, and odds and ends gathering dust in the corner behind the motorcycle.
Thanks for stopping by!
Jessica
ReplyDeleteDid you get my email about the verse?
Hey Jessica, I wondered what you were doing with your 2rd day off for the snow/ice. I see you are walking around taking new photo's. I always enjoy new photo's. Why isn't Bichon in any of them? I miss her. She has such a sweet personality.
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica,
ReplyDeleteThe house is looking great, I love the colours in the bedroom they are lovely and calming. I know what you mean about cutting back on the mowing, we put in lots of large gardens here to try and cut back. The problem is that when you have a larger block the scale of all your projects like fencing, driveway, turfing and garden beds is so big.
Cheers Linda
That is cute wrapping paper. I like the ornament!
ReplyDeleteI totally have the illness - I can't go more than a day without posting.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks great! The landscaping looks really good - I know what a huge job that is because I have re-done ours the last 2 springs - but not this year - it is done!
I ask Scott all the time if he thinks anyone out there possibly loves their dog as much as we love Dawson. I guess you might understand! :-)
...."I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me" is from Phil 4:13
ReplyDeleteThis is it and I like the idea with the verse around the pink ribbon. Also, I like the ideas of the colors. Let me know if you get this under comments in my blog. Thanks again.
Wahh! Can you hold a "blog sale instead of gargae! I would LOOOVVVEEE to go through your rejects! LOve your house. The bench is really clever.
ReplyDeleteI check all blogs on my distraction list (and then some) everyday as it is a newspaper. I love to read them. Keep posting!
I love the bench! What a creative idea. :) As always I love seeing pictures of your house for inspiration on decorating mine. :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe pillows look so cute on your bench--what a great idea! My David also worked in landscaping. Isn't that handy? :)
ReplyDeleteYour husband did a great job with the beds. They will look fabulous this spring with the plants put in! You'll have give us an update with photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my little blog. I can't believe you only charge $35 for the tiles. Thats an amazing price! I was expecting them to be alot higher. I'm definitely thinking about getting one for my mothers flower garden.
Your landscaping is going really well. Tell your husband he's doing a great job! Can't wait to see how they look when finished...

ReplyDeleteCute wrapping paper too! Hope all is well!
Girl...everything is looking just FABULOUS!! I too strive to be as crafty and cute as you!
ReplyDeleteYour house is really coming along! I wish mine was a little more organized! I am working on it, but because my hubbs did so much of our house himself, there are still things unfinished! Like my master closet is the only one with shelves!! And not ENOUGH shelves at that! He is pretty busy with other jobs right now, so I am trying to be understanding, but I could be getting SOOO much done if I had shelves in other closets AND in my laundry room. Oh well! Eventually I will get them.
Oh I know ALL about giving some good puppy love!! I had a yorkie that my hubbs gave to me when we were still dating. She was my baby until we had Landon. She turned 10 in October, but passed away about a week later. I was devastated. I totally loved her like she was my child!!
I am also very impressed with your garage! It looks SO organized!
Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Hugs!
Charity
Beautiful! You are motivating me to get off my arse and start organizing and decorating! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe flowerbeds look great--now you get to plan what plants you want to put in them! The fun part! And the bench and pillows look great--restyling is so much more sentimental and homey than using something brand new! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like Bichon's little area. I need to copy that idea for our girls! And yes, we love our babies more than anyone should love a dog!
Your house is so cute! My husband also loves landscaping...thank goodness I don't have to worry about it! Can't wait to hear about Zayde's party!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comments. I enjoy visiting your blog and I've linked you to mine as "Inspiring Jessica!" And you are a pro at photography! You could have a second career...
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful Jessica! I think you could host your own TV show :) Martha Stewart, watch out!
ReplyDeleteThe dreaded garage is on our list. I keep saying this is the month we'll tackle it, but we've leaved here almost 2 years now.
ReplyDeleteLove the buttercream wall color with the chocolate and tiffany blue in the bedroom...great color combination!
everything looks so nice! the pillows are perfect for your room! and B's little doggie bone picture, bowl, etc. are just adorable. :)

Your wrapping, the ornament and card were all so cute! Zayde will love it one day, too. :) He is going to look like such a little stylin' man with his Calvin Clein outfit!
ReplyDeleteI think the 'B' looks perfect there with her bone. She is such a pampered doggie!
Hey, Jessica! I found your blog through Candy's and I just love reading it! (Hope you don't mind a new reader) I love all of the stuff you've done in your home. That bench is great!
ReplyDeleteI love yalls house, I love the flower bed, I love it all!!! =)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what you were going to do with those pillows...you took a pic and never really posted about them! That is such a COOL idea with the kitchen table! I wished I could come up with stuff like that! You are sooooooooooo CREATIVE!!!!
Gotta love progress!
ReplyDeleteWe always have one of those "garage sale" piles too. It feels so good to get rid of stuff throughout the year but by the time spring rolls around. It can start to look out of hand.
By the way, how did I get so far behind on your site? Sorry about that!
