Harlequin Border

Jessica, a bloggy friend, ordered a tile a few weeks ago, and I am so glad she did! This tile was so much fun to paint! She began by emailing me a color scheme, which was all jewel tones. She was very specific in what she wanted, which I loved because it made the design easy to paint and very personable. She wanted a black and white harlequin border, and anyone who knows me well knows that I love harlequin with a capital "H". She wanted polka dots, and chose a verse from Hebrews- "Always remember to entertain with strangers, for by doing so, many people have entertained angels without knowing it." She plans to hang it somewhere where company will be sure to spot it. Jessica, I appreciate your business! Thanks again!

The Boys' Room

A bloggy friend from Alabama, Jamie, ordered a tile to hang on her sons' bedroom door. With a new little on the way, the two boys are going to be sharing a room together, and what a cute room it will be! Jamie was sweet enough to send me a few bugs in the mail as ideas, so that the colors would coordinate with their existing bedding and decor. Enjoy, Jamie! Thanks!

Wooley Booley

Have I mentioned what a wonderful guy David is? Today, for no reason, he ran up the stairs into the kitchen with a white box from heaven. There is no faster way to my heart than with a petitfour! Seven to be exact (there were eight, but I decided to sample one first!) I decided that seven equals one for everyday of the week. Can you say glutton? I am weak in the knees!

(I guess I'll start my 'strict' walking regimen tomorrow!!)









On another less tasty note, can I just "Wooley Booley?" No, I am not talking about buffalo. I am talking about our new bathroom area rug. In a house full of tile, area rugs are essential. I am in love with Mr. Booley, not only because I am a slave to the color brown, but because it feels great in the cold mornings getting ready for work!

It Was "Sew" Much Fun!

We had a busy weekend, and I love em' busy!

Some weekend highlights included:

1. Attending the Grand Opening for the New Chick-Fil-A in a neighboring town.

2. Pricing five of my old prom and Color's Days Dresses to sell at a local pageant.

3. Driving to Lake Sequioa for an alone "date" (Woot!)

4. Pampering my parents to a dinner and a movie on us at our house! So fun!

5. My mom giving me her wedding dress this weekend as a sentimental gift. It is gorgeous mom, and I will treausure it always! I love you, girl!

I like to stay on the go, and because my mom does too, we set up a sewing lesson for an afternoon at my house. I would consider myself a card maker,a painter, a scrapper, but not a sewer. It is not due to lack of "want-to", but rather a lack of instruction. I have always longed to sit at the sewing machine and create beautiful garments and curtains. This is probably because I come from a family of sewers. I want my children to be able to watch me hem their little pants- and not have to take them somewhere.

Mom accompanied me to Hancock Fabrics where I bought several yards of fun fabric and 47 burp cloths. I think we got carried away, to say the least! I figure if I use those to practice on, whenever we eventually start a family, I will have plenty of cute ones stored up. I love a good project- especially if it involves a good friend. My mom is definitely a good friend. The older I get, the more she becomes a girlfriend and less of a "mom." I love it! I still go to her for motherly advice, but more often than not, she seeks out my advice and opinions, as well. It is a great feeling to have that relationship with her. I greatly valued her sewing lesson-she was patient and kind. Even when I forgot how to load the bobbin. : )
