Happenings

Is it just me, or are we barreling towards Christmas at break-neck speed?
I want to preserve these pictures and memories for years to come, and certainly before the busy holiday season is upon us.

To wrap up October, a few days before before Halloween we drove south to the Ohio/Michigan border and visited a cute little pumpkin patch. It was a cold, rainy day, but we didn't let it dampen our spirits.
We each picked a pumpkin and took three home for our porch.

Henry's nursery is all but finished, but I wanted to let you see a few sneak peeks of David's hard work.
David is such a happy painter and I feel very blessed for that- I know painting is one of those things.
You either love it or hate it, right? : )
We decided on horizontal stripes, much like Harbor's room, but in gray and white.

The nursery furniture has been purchased {Ikea}though we are using Harbor's crib and rocker.
I moved an area rug we already had from our basement up to his nursery to soften the hardwood floors.
I've worked on a few projects here and there, like these embroidery hoops.
Oh, they look so sweet in his room! I can't wait to photograph the space. Just last night, David hung a little beaded chandelier over the rocker and I'm envisioning lots of late night cuddles with the new baby.
I need to make a crib skirt, but I should be ready to do a room reveal soon.

Our MOPS group at church has been such a fun ministry for me!
I always think of the craft, the food, the speaker as just a medium- a way to connect with people over something so much grander- God's love for us.
My greatest prayer as I serve in this capacity is that these ladies would feel loved and encouraged as moms.
That is really what it is all about-
connecting with like-minded believers who can build and esteem one another.

For October, I hand stamped and painted enough letters for each lady to make a "Home" bunting banner. To tie it in with Fall, I made the "O" into a pumpkin.

I've been doing lots of cooking with the weather turning colder-
cookies are a staple around here, but a pie or two, lots of soups and pastas, and stuffed cabbage rolls.

Harbor had a play date at our house with a sweet little friend from church.
We are so very thankful for the friendships we have made through our Sunday School classes.
The Lord provides for us- not just with food and shelter, but with people who love us.
So blessed, indeed!

I am a few weeks passed this point, but here I am pictured at 27 weeks.
At 27 weeks I had gained a total of 12 pounds.
I'm currently closer to 30 weeks and in the last trimester.
I do tend to tire easier- pregnancy in your 30's is a bit tougher than in your 20's-
but I am still managing to keep up lots of positive energy to tackle my day to day projects.

And since my boys are never pictured in their church clothes,
I snapped a picture of them on our way out the door and returned the favor.
: )

Lastly, with a January baby on his way and Michigan weather looking to be quite snowy,
I made a brave decision and returned to my natural hair color.
Driving in the snow every six weeks to keep my bright, white blonde just wasn't floating this mama's boat.
: )
