Back to Work!

We have had such gorgeous weather in our little corner of the good ol' U. S. of A. Northwest Arkansas is blooming with day lillies already. : ) I just love it.

I finished up two tile orders this week. They were fun projects.

We celebrated our niece, Loralei's, 1st birthday party. It was lots of fun for the kids. I cannot even fathom Harbor being that age, but I know it will happen in just a blink. I can't wait to plan his party and load him up with gifts. : ) When he gets older, he will love playing with his 22 "first" cousins in David's family. Have I mentioned how huge David's family is? We just love it.

Playing with daddy- daddy stays very busy with work, but he always makes time to "babble" with Harbor William. It is music to a mother's ears. : )

David has several big projects in the works- the vice president of the Tool group sateside is flying in on Tuesday, and on Monday the DIY Network show, Cool Tools, is coming to film a segment for an upcoming show. We are excited for all the neat things happening with his career right now.

A visit from the Hickmans:

March 2nd was my first day back to work. On the Sunday evening before, our family went to my classroom so I could plan some lessons and organize. I'm definitely an type "A" personality and I HAVE to have everything in its place. : ) When we walked in, I cried! My kids had made a bulliten board (with the help of my 5th grade team) dedicated to my return and the birth of Harbor as a surprise. They had printed off blog photos and had written letters to Harbor and me. I cannot wait to scapbook them after this year is over. Do I have the greatest job, or what? : )

My first week back to work has been a great success. Harbor didn't cry and I didn't either. Although I did miss him, having my mom show up at our house every morning has so wonderful. I cannot thank her enough. She comes in the door, I'm running around in my robe trying to put on makeup, she takes Harbor and feeds him... it is perfect! She has had dinner made or layed out every night and has kept my laundry done. What more could a girl dream of?

She has also done the sweetest thing for me.. kept a journal of her time with Harbor. She lets me know when he eats, how much, what types of diapers she changes, when and what they play, and how she feels about her new job. I love reading her pages when I get home. Again, his scrapbook grows. : )

This is Harbor and me on my first day, before heading out the door. My work day begins at 7:45, and the final dismissal bell rings at 2:50. I am home by 3:30 everyday. It is a fast day, to say the least.

My second day back to work:

My mom also videotapes and takes pictures of Harbor while I am gone. I appreciate her doing this. The following are pictures she has taken during her time at our home with him. Thanks, mom!

My mom has been taking Harbor out onto our back two story deck to have story time and has requested some more comfortable patio furniture. I told her we would start looking and pricing. Anyone found any fun patio furniture somewhere?

This past Friday, we took Harbor to the mall to shop for an Easter outfit. He finally grew into these little jeans that I just love. He looks so big!

We reorganized Harbor's room and found this fun celery colored cubicle at Target.

Playdate with sweet baby Hayden:

And last, but far from least... Brandy from FosheFotos came to our house on Saturday for Harbor's three-month pictures. They are so FABULOUS! Go to her photo blog for a sneak peek HERE!

She also took his Easter pictures. I'll be sure to show you all of her good wook as soon as I get my CD.

Have a super week! We have lots to look forward to.. David turns 28 March 24th and we celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary in April. David has a big trip cooked up for our anniversary, but has kept it under wraps. He has planned to make it family friendly so we can bring Harbor. Hotel reservations have been made, but I have been left in the dark. I hope I know how to pack? I'll have to drag some more details out of him. : )

I love you all!

  7. WOW! See, my day starts at 7:15 (school starts at 7:45). So, I have a few minutes to read your blog before my kids come in! I LOVE the 2nd picture of Harbor on Brandy's blog. It is absolutely precious! Your mom is WONDERFUL! Sounds like my mother-in-law. She's not crafty (like me) so no pics or notes but she does keep my house clean and I know she takes great care of my little B. I cannot believe how big Harbor is getting. It goes so fast! Your kids are sweet too! I remember when I came back I had cards all over my room and I saved them. Well... I better go, my students will be here soon. We just started "The Giver" and I have a big project planned this week.

  10. You are so lucky to have your mom available to keep Harbor--it's a win-win. If you are anything like me, you don't worry about him at all when he's with your mom because you know she won't put him down for a second.

  14. Cute tiles! I love the pop out letters on them.

What a nice class you have.......it was very sweet of them to do that bulletin board.

The organizer from Target is neat. Love the colors. I am still up in the air with what to do with Shelby's room. I'm conserving money now a lot more so I'm trying to think outside the box. She has two dressers (really only needs one) and her captains bed. Then she has the doll house that was given to her (very large). I bought her the cutest brown shag rug at Walmart. I love it!

  15. What a blessing to have your mom there to watch him everyday while you work! I would give anything to have my mom 45 minutes closer so she could be with CYler while I work! (Its hard working from home)

H is a doll baby! He really looks like his daddy!

How great that your mom is there to help you and to document her days with Harbor, she is a God sent. I am still trying to figure out who Harbor looks like, who do you think?

  21. One more question, what did you do to look so fabulous after just having Harbor? It took my 3 years to lose my baby weight. I have the baby bug again, but don't want to gain as much as I did with her.

  24. I think your students at school love you so much Jessica. Those letters they wrote too you are really keepsake's to reread as Harbor's grows up. It will be funny for him to read them after he learns to read. And yes, I'm loving my days with little Harbor William. The days pass so fast but I couldn't be any happier with where my life is now. You & David don't have to worry about HW or your house work. You still have plenty to do after you get home. There are always lots of papers for you too grade & you want to spend some time with HW & David after you get home. The Lord has blessed me with the chance to be able to take care of HW at this time in my life while you teach & I'm having the best time watching HW grow. He really is so sweet & is tring to talk & he loves to be outside with Bichon in the afternoons. So tell daddy we are going to need a swing set along with a sand box, ha!!!Love you Jessica, Mom

  31. Motherhood is the best thing in the world.
Nursing Cade is still going great. I am able to nurse him before I go to work and in the evenings. I pump three times while I am at work and I get enough for mom to feed him during the day while I am gone. He is eating about 4-5 oz at a time now.

    Have a good weekend!

  34. I would love to buy one of your tiles. Please e-mail me so we can write back and forth about particulars. I am interested in a tile for my daughter's room. I am going to be redoing her room this summer. She needs a big girl bed instead of a toddler bed. I am wanting to paint her room, too. I am interest in chocolate and pink polka dots.

  35. Hey Jessica,

What did you think about the tile design. Do you think it would work? If not I can come up with a different design.

    Thanks,

I am friends with Zack and Amy is there something wrong or are you just curious? I haven't seen a blog update on the page so I was just wondering.

  43. I feel the same about being a "boy" momma. I couldn't imagine having a girl now. He is SO long! Grey is like that too--it's 'cause they have tall Daddys. Also, did you get any genes in that child or is he all your husband?!?!?
Also, that pic of you two in the front yard is beautiful!
