Baby Channing

Alana, don't read any further!! : ) Alana is a 5th grade I teacher I teach with, and she just had her first child last week. Her shower at school is Monday, so I thought I would whip up something sassy and bright! Alana and her hubby did not find out what they were having, so they did the nursery in blue, green, and cream. I borrowed some fabric, matched those colors, and added pink!! Congratulations on the birth of your daughter, Channing!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

I spent my 26th birthday in a lovely, sugar-filled haze, full of singing children, butter cream icing, and the color brown!! David, as instructed by myself, got me home items. I love the very practical, but very cute (and very needed!) chocolate sheets for our guest room. I know it is not 'romantic', but I asked for it, because it was practical, and let's face it people- new sheets are not cheap anymore! He also got me Paul Simon's latest release (We LOVE Paul Simon!!!), and some Hobby Lobby goodies. His card was so sweet, and what was written inside made me blush (mushy, romance stuff!) My granny bought me a cute shadowbox scripture wall art piece, and my parents bought me a little lamp for my bathroom counter that matches what I have going on in the bedroom. My dad gave me a cute mini reading clip light (So perfect for me!!) My parents really went over the top and returned to my professional photographer and got ALL of my wedding negatives as a surprise gift! I can now take them and make as many reprints or enlargements as I want. He signed off and gave them copyright permission! I couldn't be more thrilled! Wow!! Thanks, mom and dad, for going above and beyond what I could imagine as a surprise gift! They also made "Jessica Chicken", which is my favorite dinner (prepared by my dad, which is a knock-off recipe of a fav' Mexican restaurant of ours.) I had a very happy 26th birthday! Thanks to everyone for the emails, early morning phone calls, late evening phone calls, cards, and warm wishes!

Custom Frames

A good friend from High School ordered three custom frames for her parent's 30th wedding anniversary. She wanted a Razorback frame, a vintage frame, and something simple and elegant.

Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

On Sunday we went hiking in Fallsville, AR, at the Glory Hole with the Hickmans. The five of us piled into 'Peep the Jeep' and took off after a good breakfast of biscuits and gravy (made by David!) It was a beautiful day, and it was so nice to get a break from the ordinary. We happened upon a very colorful lizard, a juicy caterpillar, and a puddle of crawfish. The guys had fun rock "jumping", and Amy and I enjoyed sitting under the bluffs, cuddling Zayde. Visit the Hickmans site to see more pictures!

Topiary Trees!

Foam balls from the Salvation Army become Fall topiary trees at the McCash house! With a little fabric from Hobby Lobby, some ribbon, Spanish moss, and some pine bough clippings from the yard, I took something old and made it new! : )

Friday Afternoon Spin!

Jessica: How long will we be gone?
David: Not long.....
Jessica: I have heard this before.
David: True, but this time I'm not lying.
Jessica: You'd better not be....
