A new bloggy friend, Jennifer, stumbled across my blog (and I'm so glad she did!)about the time I started taking outside orders on ceiling tiles. We communicated for a week or two and discussed colors, designs, and she was even sweet enough to send me pictures of her new, beautiful bedroom furniture! After talking, she decided on a half-sized tile that she could display in a plate holder. It is a great size to put on top of an armoire, kitchen or bathroom cabinets, or on a high-boy dresser. She loves blue and brown, so we went with a fun, modern monogram. An antique earring found at a local flea- market makes the perfect vintage touch! She also ordered a monogrammed letter, but I'm not quite ready to post that yet. Both items will be mailed all the way to Florida. Pray for the bubble wrap! : ) Thanks, Jennifer!
(P.S.- Thanks to Kelly for the blog award! I feel special!)
I always start with a coat of eggshell wall primer.
Blue acrylic swirls...
Working with a tile is sometimes difficult because it has a fine, chalky texture until the paint really settles in the cracks.
Painting the edges white...
A fun vintage earring gets a metallic silver coating.
The initials are started in white...
And get a final coat in cream...
White polka-dots add some interest to the swirls..
Shadowing...
Ready to make its debut some place special!
It is precious, Mrs. Creativity!
