"Mums" The Word!

David bought, as a surprise, some mums for the front porch. I think he got tired of my mumbling about our lack of sod, and decided to do what he could to make the situation less grave. : ) It does help in deterring potential home buyers from driving down our driveway, for which I am eternally grateful. There is nothing more frightening than seeing a car go down into your driveway that does not belong. Thus, I believe our lack of sod is a clear signal to home buyers everywhere that this house is vacated, and to which my immediate response is, "Show me the money! It certainly is not!" David's retaining wall is holding back the mudslides I have come to call "our dirty little secret," and with the new pile of top soil delivered today (in preparation for sod-hold your breath), I hope our home looks lived in.

  2. your house is beautiful and it looks as if you have a good bit of property too! nice! i've always thought it would be nice to be away from the neighbors...just a bit. not so close you can see what they're serving for dinner! oh, and the mums are phenomenal! i'd love to pick some up like that, they're huge! you're right, nothing makes a home look more lived in than flowers on the porch.

  3. It all looks good Miss Jessica. The yard is always the last thing to come together when you build a new house. The wait will be worth it after its all done. Maybe it will get done before your open house. If not, thats ok. All your friends & family will understand. And if anyone has ever build a house themselves they will understand it takes alot ot time to get it all done when you have to hold done a job & keep your home running smoothly.
