"Orange-ness"

So, I have decided that with all the unusable land we have, that I will grow and cultivate a pumpkin patch. I will never again pay $7.00 for a pumpkin. Nope. David has resigned himself to this and is finally on board. I have been doing pumpkin research and have decided that in order to have a successful crop, my whole family must also be on board. The pumpkins must be grown indoors for several weeks, and then transplanted to a fertilized bed, watched, rotated, covered, dusted, etc, etc, etc....
I can envision a "Pumpkin-Picking Party" that even Martha Stewart herself would be proud of! : )
Get ready yall'... Next year, I will be blogging about vegetables and saying things like "circumference", "Density", "hue", and "Orange-ness." I will have so many pumpkins, I can't stand it! I will have them on the mantle, I will have them on the stairs, I will have them in the kitchen, I will have them "everywheres"!

Next, Christmas tree farm.....

  2. As much as you and David like to garden and be outside...I see it happening!!! You could quit your teaching job and run the pumpkin patch!!! Too funny!

  4. I would come to your pumpkin patch - I just love pumpkins. I'm itching to buy some but I wanted to wait until it cooled a little bit so they didn't rot away before it was even the middle of October.

  5. I felt the same way because I wanted to buy about 20 pumpkins and decorate my porch like the Country Living magazine but they are too expensive just for decorating. Also I read that canned pumpkin is more nutritious
for you than fresh, so you couldn't cook them after they sat on your porch a month or two! So, Jessica, start up your pumpkin garden and then you can use them everywhere and sell those you don't use!

  7. You are too funny! Love your little pumpkins on your mantle.

After the trees, you can start an egg farm for Easter. Dye parties at the McCash home. :)
